The Bull-A-Ton

August 10, 2026

This Week: Woody Matthews has invited Christina Atkinson and Teresa Phillips who will tell us about Connections for Special Parents. This is an organization that has been around for 20 years to support the parents of special needs children.

Last Week: Shawn Kilpatrick invited John Tovani, former Delta employee, to talk with us. John is an interesting guy and a good speaker. His dad sat him down in a chair and simulated flight with him from the 2nd grade. He wanted to fly from an early age and did, then went to the Air Force Academy. He flew in Germany while in the service and it sounded like his low-level flying would be more adventuresome than most of us would like to be involved in. It did sound exciting. He went to work for Delta, worked his way up the ladder as second in command, earned Captain status and worked his way up the planes as a Captain. He wound up flying overseas, which is a good gig. Then he got into training and became the chief training pilot for Delta.

Etc, etc etc:

A survey was passed around for members to indicate their likes and dislikes on places to meet, days to meet, and the menu current and future. Seth said that Rotary was only meeting 3 times a month due to costs at Cateechee. We should hear the results next week.

A steak dinner will be prepared by Ed Ridgway on August 27. Current place is Long Point, if the grill is ok. A signup sheet will be passed around soon.

The Imagination Library Low Country Boil will be held on September 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. This is something we support by volunteering in some capacity. Tickets are for sale by Scott or Steve at $30 each. We are also accepting donations for the program, cash or something for the auction.

Thought for the Week: A clear conscience is usually a good sign of a bad memory.
